So, you can´t make it to some of the events? You won´t be able to experience some of the stellar moments with us? No problem...sit down in front of your computer and follow the Festival´s activities online, minute by minute. Our team is working to make you feel like you´re right here with us. Look for DRGFF TV programming and stay informed about everything that´s happening at this important Dominican Global Film Festival.

Categories That Impact the World

Visit the films section of the webpage to see the categories of the 36 movies that make up the program. Under the slogan, “Global Issues, Personal Stories,” we shed light on some of the most compelling issues going on around the world today. Imagine being able to choose a film based on a topic such as “Women in Today's World,” “Immigration Stories,” “The Power of Music,” and much more. Check out the categories, pick one and enjoy the show! In which category do you think you´d find this film? “Emmanuel Jar: War Child.” He tells his story in his own words: “I left home at seven and one year later I was carrying an AK 47.” This is the story of Emmanuel Jar, a veteran of the 27-year civil war in Sudan and now a hip-hop singer. The great majority of these films have already won awards. Look online and see which of them has won which prizes in which festivals around the world. And to make things even easier for you, we´ve organized the film titles alphabetically.

A Window onto the Festival Venues

Get to know more about the Dominican Republic and the places that will be hosting the Dominican Global Film Festival. The “Ciudades” (Cities) section with an interactive map is being updated and improved daily. But that´s not all…soon we will be uploading interviews with people in each city (maybe you´ll be one of them. Who knows?). Before the Festival, General Director Natasha Despotovic and part of her team visited Puerto Plata, Santiago, Higuey and Nagua where they were interviewed by local radio and TV stations and viewed the film venues. Don´t miss out on the trip!

The Festival Calendar, Full Speed Ahead

Check your Dominican Global Film Festival Calendar every day. This year´s Festival is much larger than last year, with over 135 invited national and international guests on hand, 26 feature films, 10 documentaries, over 12 panel discussions that will include master classes, workshops and special presentations. The calendar is full of options for your entertainment, so keep on top of things. The calendar will be updated daily with news about professional, educational and social events throughout the entire Festival. Don´t miss a minute of this unique event in the Dominican Republic.

Show-Off What You Know

Show-off your endless film knowledge by playing the Dominican Global Film Festival Quiz. Ever wonder what the name of the film was that launched Kevin Costner´s career in 1987? Not to worry, just click on the page where we have placed 25 questions and take the film-know-it-all quiz.

If You´re a Journalist, Sign up!

If you are a national or international journalist and you´re interested in receiving regular updates about the Festival, sign up now using the exclusive registration form we´ve created just for reporters. If you have any questions, you will be answered by one of your colleagues. The world-renowned Festival Press Office is here to take care of all your needs for the duration of the Festival and your stay in the DR.

Welcome Volunteers

This year we have no more and no less than 120 volunteers. In fact, every day we receive at least 5 more applications from excellent young professionals who want to be part of a unique experience in the Dominican Republic. Enthusiastic volunteers, Dominican as well as foreigners who want to get to know Dominican culture, make up this large team of volunteers whose help will be essential to us throughout the Festival. Having filled out their applications, they will be reporting for their first meeting to be held on November 15 at the FUNGLODE office in Santo Domingo. Imagine how it must feel for young people from various provinces around the country to be meeting and interacting with international volunteers from South and North America and Europe? This is the event of the year! If you missed the chance to volunteer, please think about joining us next year. Keep up on the news by visiting our webpage often to see when the registration process opens up for the next event.

Unfortunately, all volunteer spots for this year have been filled. The Dominican Global Film Festival appreciates all of your support, enthusiasm and confidence and we invite you to sign up again next year.

The Curtain is About to Go Up: Register Today!

The number of people signing up is increasing every day. Register today and join the Friends of the Dominican Global Film Festival. You will receive press releases with film synopses with details about filmmakers, national and international, who will be attending the Festival. Would you like to meet all of them? Sign up now and find out when and where they´ll be. If you can´t be here in person, don´t forget to link up to DRGFF TV.

All Festival Material Available for Download on PDF
