Youssef DeLara tells the story of “Majo” Tonorio, as known as Filly Brown, a tough LA street poet who spits from the heart. When a music producer offers her a contract, she has to make one of the most important decisions of her life. With her mother in jail on drug charges, this music deal could help get her away from her troubled family. Accepting the deal could also mean turning her back on the friends who got her to this point of success.

Directed by Youssef Delara and Michael Olmos, the cast includes Jenni Rivera, Lou Diamond Phillips, Emilio Riviera and Edward James Olmos with Gina Rodriguez as Filly Brown in her film debut.  The film premiered at Sundance in 2012.
